Overview

The goal of this project was to enhance object detection algorithms for front and side radar systems in automotive applications.

The main tasks included a detailed analysis of existing algorithms and the development of proposals to integrate detection data from side radars. This enhancement aimed to increase the overall accuracy and reliability of the object detection process.

A critical component of the project was integrating these changes into the overall fusion software developed by Continental. Special emphasis was placed on collaborating with Continental’s side radar team to ensure seamless integration and functionality of the enhanced fusion algorithms.

Functional tests and Key Performance Indicator (KPI) tests were conducted to optimize the algorithms and ensure they met the desired performance metrics. These tests were crucial to confirm the effectiveness of the improvements and ensure the reliability of object detection under various conditions.

the project utilized a variety of technologies including C++, MTS, DOORS, IMS, MKS, and Jira. The development and testing activities were conducted using ROS (Robot Operating System) frameworks, which enabled an efficient and structured approach.

Through close collaboration with Continental’s side radar team, the project team ensured that the enhanced algorithms were seamlessly integrated into the existing system. This collaboration was crucial for the success of the project and for achieving the desired performance improvements.

The project delivered significant improvements in radar detection and classification, contributing to the overall performance and safety of advanced driver assistance systems (ADAS). The optimized algorithms increased the precision and reliability of object detection, thereby significantly improving the safety and effectiveness of the driver assistance systems. Sensified was responsible for the successful execution of this project and ensured that all project objectives were achieved through the use of state-of-the-art technologies and thorough testing methods.
